Introduction

The Collaborative Action for Childcare (CAC) is a pan-African platform for scaling impact on childcare and its philosophy is Governments in the lead, caregivers and children at the centre, and non-state actors working together to accelerate quality, affordable childcare for all.

The CAC Annual Conference brings together participants from across the country and from neighbouring countries to share learning experiences and knowledge on childcare.

The Conference provides space to reflect on progress made in recent years and also to explore opportunities for further co-creation of initiatives that accelerate quality, affordable childcare for all.

The Conference is hosted by the Lake Region Economic Bloc; the CoG and the County Government of Kisumu.

The Conference is a preparation for the 1st Africa Childcare Forum that will be held in May 2025  in Kigali, Rwanda.

  • Progress made in Legal Policy and Legal Reforms as they impact the Counties in advancing the rights of childcare workers.
  • Progress made in the implementation of initiatives related to child development including the implementation of the Nurturing Care Framework.
  • Progress made to advance inclusion within the childcare ecosystem
    Progress made in regard to strengthening support systems for caregivers.

Highlight Issues

Highlight specific childcare issues related to marginalised regions and communities in the country.

Generate Ideas

Generate ideas for strengthening Kenya’s participation at the 1st Africa Childcare Forum in October 2024.
